TOP 16 MOST COMMON POISONOUS PLANTS FOR PUPS

Below are the list and the symptoms your dog may exhibit if he/she ingests these plants. Please keep your pup away from these plants and consult with your Vet if your pup displays such symptoms and has come in contact with any of these plants. Although such symptoms are not always a result of exposure to poisonous plants it's a good idea to keep your pooch away from plants, in general, to avoid any potential unintentional exposure to the possibility. When in doubt, call your Vet; that's what they're there for!



#1 Sago Palm - liver failure and possible death


#2 Tomato Plant - can cause weakness, gastrointestinal problems, drowsiness, dilated pupils, slow heart rate, and confusion



#3 Aloe Vera - can cause vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, tremors, and general central nervous system depression



#4 Ivy - Vomiting, diarrhea, excessive salivation, and drooling, and abdominal pain


#5 Amaryllis - poisonous



#6 Gladiola - drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, and general lethargy


#7 American Holly - vomiting and diarrhea



#8 Daffodil - intestinal spasms, low blood pressure, salivation, tremors, vomiting,

diarrhea, and even cardiac arrhythmia


#9 Baby's Breath - vomiting and diarrhea


#10 Milkweed - vomiting and diarrhea, may also cause difficulty breathing, rapid and

weak pulse dilated pupils, and even kidney or liver failure and death.


#11 Castor Bean - drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, extreme thirst, loss of appetite, and abdominal pain. Potentially fatal in severe cases, which may present as muscle

twitching, tremors, seizures, and even coma.


#12 Azalea/Rhododendron - gastrointestinal issues. They can additionally cause weakness, dis-coordination, and weak heart rate. Potentially fatal.


#13 Tulip - gastrointestinal problems accompanied by the central nervous system

depression and even convulsions and death


#14 Chrysanthemum - Vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, and drooling


#15 Begonia - extreme oral irritation and excessive inflammation of the mouth, as well

as drooling and vomiting



#16 Oleander - all parts of the plant are poisonous
